Create the basic structure of the swimming pool

1.  Dig the area. Once you hire a certified pool contractor, they will start to tag and dig at the site of your choice. To do so, they may need to use backhoes and other heavy machinery. Excavation is one of the most important parts in the construction process, because the correct installation of other parts of the pool depends on whether it is correct or not.

2.  Level the ground at the bottom of the hole. Once the site has been excavated, the next step is to level the floor of the pool as much as possible. This will include covering the bottom surface with a thick layer of washed gravel subsoil, then raking and compressing until it is completely flat.

There are several different ways to grade a swimming pool. Some pools have flat bottoms, while others have sloping floors, creating a deep and a shallow bottom. Be sure to tell your contractor what style you want.

3.  Frame the wall with steel supports. With the excavation of the ground and the levelling of the bottom surface, you can now begin to form the sides of the pool. The construction team will place metal bars and planks around the holes. These materials are used to create shapes and provide support.

Just like the floor, it's important that the walls of the new pool be flat, level and aligned with each other.

If your construction contractor does not have a license or equipment to build the swimming pool walls, it may be necessary to hire a separate steel subcontractor to do so.

4.  Install all necessary plumbing. At this point, you need to hire a licensed plumbing specialist to set up the pool's water circulation and filtration system. This will include components such as drains, skimmers, two-way and three-way valves, and main pumps, which are responsible for filling, emptying, and delivering water throughout the pool.

Be sure to hire someone with extensive pool experience - an inexperienced plumber can make a mess of your new pool before it's finished.

5.  Wire the swimming pool. Before the pool lining, the electrical contractor needs to supply you with power for the filtration system and any underwater lighting elements you wish to include. This is another important time to ensure the safety of professional services, as poor wiring and water can be a dangerous combination.

Ask your main construction contractor for recommendations from trusted electricians they have worked with in the past.

The electrical safety of swimming pool is a main problem. Line failure increases the risk of electric shock for swimmers.
