What is the appropriate power to use for the underwater light transformer in the swimming pool?

According to the national electric shock prevention standards, the voltage of underwater lights in swimming pools cannot exceed 36V. Therefore, the design of underwater lights in swimming pools is low-voltage 12V or 24V, and cannot be directly connected to the daily mains voltage of 220V. So, what is the appropriate power for the underwater light transformer in the swimming pool?

If the voltage is too high, it may burn out the lighting fixtures or pose a safety hazard of electric leakage and shock; If the voltage is too low, some lighting fixtures may be too dark or unable to light up. So in order to ensure the safe and stable operation of underwater lights in the swimming pool, it is necessary to cooperate with transformers.

The recommended total power of the underwater light transformer in the swimming pool is 130% of the total power of all powered lamps to ensure normal power supply. For example, if there are 10 12W lamps and the total required power is 12x10=180W, the transformer power should be: 120 * 130%=156W, and a 200W transformer should be used.

The specific protection level of the underwater light transformer in the swimming pool depends on the installation conditions. If it is installed inside a distribution box, the distribution box must meet the outdoor waterproof requirements. If the transformer is installed independently outdoors, the protection level of the electrical appliance itself must meet the outdoor use standard, at least IP67.
