How to choose the mirror material for underwater swimming pool lights?
The mirror materials of LED swimming pool underwater lights mainly include PC (polycarbonate) and tempered glass. By correctly understanding their differences and characteristics, it is not easy to choose the wrong mirror material.
Underwater pool lights made of PC mirror material
Advantages: It has excellent transparency, weather resistance, and impact resistance, can withstand certain water pressure, and is not easily broken.
Disadvantages: Compared to tempered glass, its hardness is slightly lower, and it may be scratched or damaged in extreme situations (such as strong impact).

Underwater pool lights made of tempered glass material
Advantages: High hardness, wear resistance, pressure resistance, able to withstand large water pressure, effectively preventing the lamp from breaking and entering water due to water pressure. Meanwhile, tempered glass has good transparency and can present clear and bright light effects.
Disadvantage: Although tempered glass has been specially treated to improve its strength, it may still shatter in extreme situations. However, its fragments are usually in the form of blunt angle particles, reducing the risk of harm to the human body.

Suggestions for selecting mirror materials for underwater pool lights:
1. Considering budget costs: Tempered glass has high hardness, wear resistance, and pressure resistance, so the cost may be relatively high. Although PC material has slightly lower hardness, it has good weather resistance and impact resistance, and is relatively inexpensive, so it has certain advantages in terms of budget cost. When making a choice, a balance can be made between actual needs and budget.
2. Considering transparency and aesthetics: Both PC and tempered glass materials should have good transparency to ensure that pool lights can present clear and bright light effects. Meanwhile, the design and material of the mirror should also be coordinated with the overall style of the swimming pool to enhance its aesthetic appeal.
3. Considering water depth and pressure: For swimming pools with high water depth and pressure, it is recommended to choose tempered glass with moderate thickness (such as 8-10mm) as the mirror material for the lighting fixtures to ensure their pressure bearing capacity and waterproof performance. For shallow and low water pressure swimming pools, PC material is also a good choice, as its excellent transparency and weather resistance can meet basic needs.
