Be careful! Can't the pool lights stay on for a long time in this situation?!
After the installation of the pool lights is completed, many customers usually test whether the lights can work properly without filling the pool with water. However, it should be noted that the lighting fixtures should not be turned on for a long time in this situation! Due to the possibility of inability to dissipate heat, temperature rise, and accelerated aging of electronic components, the lighting fixtures may malfunction or burn out. So how do pool lights dissipate heat?
1. Heat dissipation through water flow
The design purpose of pool lighting is for use underwater, so the structure and heat dissipation are optimized based on the underwater environment. By dissipating heat through water flow, the water forms a circulating flow after being heated, continuously taking away heat and avoiding local overheating;
2. Sealing adhesive heat dissipation
Pool lighting thermal conductive sealant has become an important heat dissipation material. Thermal conductive sealant can reliably protect sensitive circuits and components over a wide range of temperature and humidity changes, and has good thermal conductivity, which can quickly dissipate the heat generated inside the lamp to the water environment.
3. Structural heat dissipation
Pool lighting structure for heat dissipation. The internal light source (such as LED module) is tightly connected to the housing through a heat sink, thermal conductive adhesive, and a high-efficiency thermal conduction path. Designed with an IP68 waterproof rating, ensuring sealing while not obstructing heat transfer (such as thin-walled structures, heat dissipation fins extending to the casing).
4. Low power LED light source
Low power source for pool lighting (assisting in reducing heat generation). Modern pool lights commonly use LED technology, which has high photoelectric conversion efficiency (about 30-40% converted into light), significantly reducing heat generation compared to traditional halogen lights (80% energy converted into heat).
Therefore, without water injection, do not light up the pool lights for a long time, otherwise it will accelerate the LED light decay, seal material aging, circuit short circuit, burn out electronic components and other safety hazards.
